Bombe Surprise

£6.50

“Bombe Surprise” is a French expression, and one which certainly doesn’t call for an interpreter to translate – “The Surprise Bomb”.

It’s a decadent, luxuriously self-indulgent desert which first put in an appearance in the 1880’s. Quite simply, ice cream is frozen in a spherical mould so that it resembles a cannon ball, hence the name, then tarted up a bit.

And the “surprise” element becomes apparent when the bombe is sliced open revealing unexpected layers, tastes and textures hidden within its frozen shell. Fruits, nuts, chocolate, a band of mousse, a slug of alcohol, even cake, are some of the varied and delicious possibilities a Bombe Surprise could hold in store for those who dare to lock spoons with this amazing pudding.

Unfortunately, Neville, the chick-a-birdee half way down on the left hand side of Long Dog’s Bombe Surprise, knows nothing about gourmet food, or anything else come to think of it. He’s brought along a little “bombe surprise” of his own. Our Nev knows how to make a party go with a bang! 💣

Comes to you as a pdf with a very long fuse, and a few sparks, straight from the freezer to your inbox. Bon appetit, don’t go back for seconds – these bombes soon go off.
